Umana Venezia outgunned Scandone Avelllino on the road to secure Serie A Finals birth. The guests trailed by 3 points after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 9-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 84-83. Umana Venezia looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. The best player for the winners was Croatian forward Hrvoje Peric (203-85) who scored 21 points and 4 assists. American-Georgian point guard Marquez Haynes (191-86, college: Texas Arlington) chipped in 14 points and 7 assists. At the other side the best for losing team was American-Polish guard David Logan (185-82, college: Indianapolis) who recorded 20 points and 5 assists and American-Liberian point guard Joe Ragland (182-89, college: Wichita St.) added 18 points and 4 steals respectively. Five Umana Venezia and four Scandone AV players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game.
