Finals Game 3: Torun - Stelmet ZG 84-74

Torun snapped two-game losing skid and edged Stelmet ZG to cut the deficit in the title series. Twarde Pierniki dominated down low during the game scoring 50 of its points in the paint compared to Stelmet's 26. They outrebounded Stelmet 38-26 including 24 on the defensive glass. Twarde Pierniki looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Twarde Pierniki made 7 blocks. 24 personal fouls committed by Stelmet helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. It was a great evening for Senegalese center Cheikh Mbodj (208-87, college: Cincinnati, agency: Octagon Europe) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 10 rebounds. American-Hungarian point guard Obadiah Trotter (188-84, college: Alabama A&M) helped adding 11 points, 5 rebounds and 14 assists. Five Twarde Pierniki players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was the former international swingman Thomas Kelati (195-82, college: Washington St., agency: BeoBasket) with 25 points (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field) and American point guard James Florence (185-88, college: Mercer, agency: Three Eye Sports) scored 12 points and 4 assists. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games.
