Mazatlan knocked down Obregon on the road to draw things level. Lobos UAD Mazatlan shot 62.5 percent from the field. Lobos UAD Mazatlan outrebounded Halcones de Ciudad Obregon 40-24 including a 30-16 advantage in defensive rebounds. American players dominated the game. Guard Jeff Ledbetter (190-88, college: Idaho) notched 28 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists to lead the effort and forward Omar Thomas (196-82, college: UTEP) supported him with 27 points and 8 rebounds. Even a double-double of 28 points and 10 rebounds by forward Michael Glover (203-87, college: Iona) did not help to save the game for Halcones de Ciudad Obregon. Guard Kevin Capers (188-93, college: Florida Southern) added 23 points and 4 assists for the hosts. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures.
