Regular Season Round 5: Indios SFM - Huracanes PP 105-104

Important game to mention about took place in San Francisco. Second ranked Indios SFM (5-1) saved a 1-point victory at home edging 4th placed Huracanes PP (2-4) 105-104 on Thursday evening. The hosts were tied after three quarters but managed to speed up in last quarter eventually winning the game. Naturalized American guard Gerardo Suero (196-89, college: Albany) saved the victory by scoring 25 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists. Juan-Miguel Suero (198-93) contributed with 19 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners. Naturalized American guard Maurice Carter (183-83, college: Robert Morris) answered with 21 points and 7 assists and Nigerian-Jamaican swingman Weyinmi Rose (196-86, college: Providence) added 24 points in the effort for Huracanes PP. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Huracanes PP's coach tried various players' combinations and tested in total eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. The victory was the third consecutive win for Indios SFM. They maintain second place with 5-1 record behind leader Leones SD. Huracanes PP at the other side keeps the fourth position with four games lost. They share it with 3 other teams. Indios SFM will play against Caneros LR (#7) in La Romana in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Huracanes PP will play on the road against the league's leader Leones SD in Santo Domingo and hopes to get back on the winning track.
