The game in supposed to be also quite interesting. Second ranked Barva (9-1) played at the court of 7th ranked U Costa Rica (3-8). Barva smashed U Costa Rica 97-44 on Saturday. Barva dominated down low during the game scoring 66 of its points in the paint compared to U Costa Rica's 20 and made 19-of-25 free shots (76.0 percent) during the game, while U Costa Rica only scored 0 point from the stripe. Barva forced 25 U Costa Rica turnovers and outrebounded them 54-38 including a 45-28 advantage in defensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of American center Justin Dobbins (203-87, college: E.Michigan, agency: Interperformances) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 24 points, 15 rebounds and 4 assists and Panamanian Amir Alvarado (198-84, college: Marshalltown CC) who added 15 points and 7 rebounds (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field) during the contest. Four Barva players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was center Andres Flohr (195-94) with 8 points and 10 rebounds and Jose Palma (-91) scored 6 points and 6 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Barva have an impressive six-game winning streak. Defending champion maintains second position with 9-1 record behind leader ARBA. U Costa Rica lost third consecutive game. They keep the seventh place with eight games lost. Barva will meet at home league's leader ARBA in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. U Costa Rica will play against Grecia (#4) and hope to secure a win.
