The game in La Vega was also quite interesting. Second ranked Indios SFM (5-1) played at the court of 8th ranked Reales LV (1-5). Indios SFM managed to secure a 5-point victory 106-101 on Saturday. The guests trailed by 3 points after three quarters before their 32-24 charge, which allowed them to win the game. Indios SFM made 30-of-33 free shots (90.9 percent) during the game. Strangely Reales LV outrebounded Indios SFM 45-30 including a 21-10 advantage in offensive rebounds. They shot the lights out from three sinking 14 long-distance shots on high 51.9 percentage. Indios SFM looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Reales LV was plagued by 26 personal fouls down the stretch. The best player for the winners was naturalized American guard Gerardo Suero (196-89, college: Albany) who scored 34 points (!!!), 7 rebounds and 8 assists. Juan-Miguel Suero (198-93) chipped in 22 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists. American swingman Ollie Bailey (201-85, college: Oklahoma City) produced a double-double by scoring 21 points and 11 rebounds and naturalized American Antonio Pena (204-86, college: Villanova) added 19 points respectively for the hosts. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. The victory was the third consecutive win for Indios SFM. They maintain second place with 5-1 record behind leader Leones SD. Reales LV lost their fourth game in a row. They stay at the bottom position with five games lost. Indios SFM will face Caneros LR (#7) in La Romana in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Reales LV will play at home against Soles SD and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
