The game had a very big importance for second-ranked Leones SD as it allowed them to take a leadership position. Leones SD defeated 5th ranked Titanes Licey in Santo Domingo 105-90. The hosts trailed by 2 points at the halftime before their 53-36 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. Leones SD looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. The best player for the winners was naturalized Spanish center Jhonatan Araujo (208-96, agency: Basket Management Solutions) who had a double-double by scoring 31 points and 12 rebounds. American forward Travis Daniels (202-92, college: Mississippi St.) chipped in 12 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists. American point guard Patrick Rembert (185-89, college: Cal-Irvine) produced 19 points and naturalized Spanish power forward Edward Santana (203-80) added 9 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists respectively for the guests. Five Leones SD and four Titanes Licey players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Leones SD (6-1) have an impressive series of six victories in a row. As mentioned above they are alone now at the top position. Titanes Licey lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the fourth place with four games lost. They share the position with 3 other teams. Titanes Licey will play next round against strong Metros STGO trying to get back on the winning streak. Leones SD will try to continue on its current victory against fifth ranked Huracanes PP in Puerto Plata.
