Regular Season Round 32: Quebradillas - Guayama 76-81

Very important is a home loss of third ranked Piratas (18-11) against ninth ranked Brujos (11-18) on Tuesday night. Host Piratas were defeated by Brujos in a tough game in Quebradillas 76-81. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Piratas. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Piratas won third quarter 23-13. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Brujos made 16-of-21 charity shots (76.2 percent) during the game. American guard Damien Wilkins (198-80, college: Georgia) orchestrated the victory by scoring 33 points (!!!), 5 rebounds and 5 assists (was perfect 9-for-9 from the free throw line !!!). The former international center Kleon Penn (213-86, college: McNeese St., agency: Paris Global Sports) contributed with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 11 rebounds for the winners. Penn is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. The former international center Jorge-Bryan Diaz (210-89, college: Nebraska) replied with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 10 rebounds and the former international Michael Rosario (190-90, college: Florida) added 19 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Piratas. Four Piratas players scored in double figures. Brujos moved-up to eighth place. Piratas at the other side keep the third position with 11 games lost. Brujos will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Piratas will play at home against Capitanes and hope to get back on the winning track.
