Date: June 13, 2017
Very important is a road loss of second ranked Indios SFM (5-2) against seventh ranked Caneros LR (3-4) on Tuesday night. Visiting Indios SFM was defeated by Caneros LR in a tough game in La Romana 89-97. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Indios SFM. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Indios SFM won third quarter 31-19. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Caneros LR looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. American guard Austin Freeman (194-89, college: Georgetown) notched 25 points and 5 assists to lead the effort and swingman Andy Williams (195-80, agency: Court Side) supported him with 20 points. Even 23 points and 7 rebounds by naturalized American guard Gerardo Suero (196-89, college: Albany) did not help to save the game for Indios SFM. Juan-Miguel Suero (198-93) added 15 points, 6 rebounds and 9 assists. Five Indios SFM players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest.
