Joinville upset Contagem on the road to advance into Liga Ouro Finals. Joinville made 25-of-27 free shots (92.6 percent) during the game. Strangely Contagem outrebounded Joinville 44-32 including a 18-6 advantage in defensive rebounds. 25 personal fouls committed by Contagem helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Point guard Jeferson Froehlich (193-91) orchestrated the victory by scoring 14 points, 6 rebounds and 8 assists. The former international Andre Pereira (206-79) contributed with 14 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners. Joinville's coach George Salles used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Power forward Wesley Sena (210-96) answered with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 12 rebounds and point guard Eric Romualdo (185-83) added 17 points, 5 rebounds, 6 assists and 4 steals in the effort for Contagem. Five Joinville and four Contagem players scored in double figures.
