Fifth ranked Atleticos (16-14) saved a 3-point victory on the road edging one of their biggest challengers Leones (16-15) 94-91 in the fight for the fourth place. Atleticos made 19-of-25 charity shots (76.0 percent) during the game. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 26 assists. American forward Devin Ebanks (206-89, college: W.Virginia) notched 19 points and 5 assists to lead the effort and the other American import power forward Justin Keenan (202-88, college: Ferris St.) supported him with 17 points and 4 assists. Atleticos' coach Wilhelmus Caanen allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. Even 21 points and 6 assists by Dominican Victor Liz (193-86, agency: Basket Management Solutions) did not help to save the game for Leones. American Mike Harris (198-83, college: Rice) added 14 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists for lost side. Four Atleticos and five Leones players scored in double figures. Atleticos have an impressive eight-game winning streak. They moved-up to fourth place. Leones at the other side dropped to the fifth position with 15 games lost. Atleticos will play against Brujos (#9) in Guayama in the next round where they are favorite. Leones will play at home against Vaqueros (#7) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
