Regular Season Round 7: Huracanes PP - Caneros LR 86-91

The most interesting game of round 7 in the LNB was a home defeat of 5th ranked Huracanes PP (3-5) to fourth ranked Caneros LR (4-4) 91-86 in the game for the fourth place. The guests trailed by 9 points at the halftime before their 50-36 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. Caneros LR looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. It was a great evening for American Trey Gilder (206-85, college: Northwestern St.) who led his team to a victory scoring 26 points and 9 rebounds. His fellow American import guard Austin Freeman (194-89, college: Georgetown) helped adding 25 points. At the losing side Nigerian-Jamaican swingman Weyinmi Rose (196-86, college: Providence) responded with 14 points and 5 rebounds and naturalized American forward Kelly Beidler (199-88, college: Mt.St.Mary's) scored 16 points. Four Huracanes PP players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Caneros LR have a solid series of four victories in a row. They maintain fourth place with 4-4 record. Huracanes PP at the other side keeps the fifth position with five games lost. They share it with Titanes Licey. Caneros LR are looking forward to face league's leader Metros STGO in Santiago in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Huracanes PP will play on the road against Titanes Licey (#6) in San Cristobal and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
