Regular Season Round 35: Arecibo - Fajardo 71-83

The game in Arecibo was also quite interesting. Second ranked Fajardo (20-11) played at the court of 6th ranked Capitanes (14-16). Fajardo defeated Capitanes 83-71 on Sunday. The game was mostly controlled by Fajardo. Capitanes managed to win fourth quarter 25-16. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They made 22-of-25 free shots (88.0 percent) during the game, while Capitanes only scored five points from the stripe. It was a great evening for American forward Damion James (201-87, college: Texas) who led his team to a victory scoring 26 points and 8 rebounds. The former international guard Miguel-Ali Berdiel (198-83, college: Valparaiso) helped adding 10 points and 8 assists. American forward Coty Clarke (201-92, college: Arkansas, agency: BeoBasket) responded with a double-double by scoring 27 points and 11 rebounds and the other American import forward Davon Jefferson (204-86, college: USC) scored 12 points and 6 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Fajardo maintains second place with 20-11 record behind leader Aguada. Defending champion Capitanes keep the sixth position with 16 games lost. Fajardo will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Capitanes will play against Caciques (#10) and hope to secure a win.
