Finals Game 1: Botafogo F.R. - Joinville 83-67

Botafogo overcame Joinville in the Liga Ouro Finals opener. Botafogo F.R. dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to Joinville's 30. Worth to mention a great performance of center Feliciano Perez (210-90) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 19 points and 11 rebounds (perfect from the field making all seven shots !!!). American point guard Jamaal Smith (175-85, college: N.Mexico) contributed with 14 points and 7 assists for the winners. Four Botafogo F.R. players scored in double figures. Maxwell Dias (198-91) answered with 21 points and guard Felipe Vezaro (193-92, college: Texas A&M Int.) added 19 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Joinville. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games.
