Tenth-ranked Caciques (10-21) were very close to win a game against sixth ranked Capitanes (15-16) in Arecibo. Capitanes managed to secure only one-point victory 81-80. However their fans expected much easier game. Caciques cut a 13-point halftime deficit to one at the end of the game. Capitanes made 16-of-18 charity shots (88.9 percent) during the game. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 26 assists. The best player for the winners was American forward Davon Jefferson (204-86, college: USC) who had a double-double by scoring 18 points, 11 rebounds and 5 assists. The former international swingman David Huertas (195-87, college: Mississippi) chipped in 17 points and 5 rebounds. Five Capitanes players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was the former international center Peter Ramos (222-85) who recorded a double-double by scoring 19 points, 13 rebounds and 4 assists and American forward Tyler Wilkerson (203-88, college: Marshall) added 17 points and 13 rebounds respectively. Defending champion maintains sixth position with 15-16 record. Caciques at the other side stay at the bottom place with 21 games lost. Capitanes' next round opponent will be higher ranked Atleticos (#5) in San German and it may be quite challenging game.
