Titanes Licey (#4) was upset in La Vega by seventh ranked Reales LV 99-76. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Titanes Licey. The game was mostly controlled by Reales LV. Titanes Licey managed to win second period 17-13. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. It was a great shooting night for Reales LV especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 55.6 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. American swingman Ollie Bailey (201-85, college: Oklahoma City) fired 27 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. The former international swingman James Maye (201-81, college: NC-Greensboro) chipped in 17 points and 5 rebounds. Four Reales LV players scored in double figures. American center Brian Williams (208-87, college: Tennessee) produced 13 points and 7 rebounds and naturalized Spanish power forward Edward Santana (203-80) added 13 points and 7 rebounds respectively for lost side. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Reales LV maintains seventh position with 4-7 record. Loser Titanes Licey dropped to the fifth place with six games lost. They share the position with Huracanes PP. Reales LV will meet higher ranked Leones SD (#3) in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Titanes Licey will play against Huracanes PP in Puerto Plata and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
