Regular Season Round 10: Soles SD - Huracanes PP 65-87

The game in Santo Domingo supposed to be also worth to mention about. Sixth ranked Huracanes PP (5-6) played at the court of 8th ranked Soles SD (2-9). Huracanes PP smashed Soles SD 87-65. It looked good early as Soles SD took a 2-point small lead at the end of first quarter. But then Huracanes PP had a 30-12 second period charge getting the lead and Soles SD was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 65-87. Huracanes PP dominated down low during the game scoring 64 of its points in the paint compared to Soles SD's 36. Worth to mention a great performance of naturalized American guard Maurice Carter (183-83, college: Robert Morris) who helped to win the game recording 15 points and 5 assists. American forward Aaron Jones (206-93, college: Mississippi) contributed with 12 points and 8 rebounds (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field) for the winners. Four Huracanes PP players scored in double figures. Puerto Rican guard Hector Maldonado (185-91, agency: Basket Management Solutions) replied with 12 points and Bahamas guard Michael Carey-Jr (196-93, college: Wagner) added 7 points and 9 rebounds in the effort for Soles SD. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Huracanes PP moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Titanes Licey. Soles SD lost seventh consecutive game. They stay at the bottom position with nine games lost. Huracanes PP's next round opponent will be Titanes Licey (#5) in San Cristobal.
