Regular Season Round 15: Sutherland S. - Norths Bears 46-66

No shocking result in a game in Sutherland where third ranked North Bears (8-2) outleveled 5th ranked Sharks (6-5) 66-46 on Saturday. North Bears dominated down low during the game scoring 50 of its points in the paint compared to Sharks' 24. North Bears forced 28 Sharks turnovers. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when North Bears made 28 blocks. Sharks were plagued by 43 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a great evening for American guard Kallie Hovatter (175-89, college: Elon) who led her team to a victory scoring 14 points and 6 assists. Guard Jaimee Kennedy (178-88) helped adding 12 points, 5 rebounds and 9 blocks. The best for the losing side was Peta Kneen with 12 points and 4 steals and Lisa Watkins scored 8 points. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. North Bears moved-up to second place in League. Loser Sharks keep the fifth position with five games lost. North Bears will face Hawks (#9) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Sharks will play against Manly Warringah Sea Eagles (#3) in Narrabeen and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
