Regular Season Round 11: Leones SD - Reales LV 103-105

The most exciting game of round 11 in the LNB took place in Santo Domingo. This derby game ended with only two-point home defeat of 3rd placed Leones SD (6-7) to seventh ranked Reales LV (5-7) 105-103 on Sunday evening. The guests trailed by 4 points at the halftime before their 56-50 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. Reales LV made 20-of-26 free shots (76.9 percent) during the game. The best player for the winners was guard Juan Coronado (193-83) who had a double-double by scoring 21 points and 10 assists. The former international swingman James Maye (201-81, college: NC-Greensboro) chipped in 23 points and 5 rebounds. Guard Elpidio Fortuna (188-85, agency: Basket Management Solutions) produced 26 points and 4 assists and naturalized American MJ Rhett (206-92, college: Mississippi) added 22 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists respectively for the hosts. Four Reales LV and five Leones SD players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Reales LV moved-up to sixth place. Leones SD lost sixth consecutive game. Defending champion dropped to the fifth position with seven games lost. Reales LV are looking forward to face bottom-ranked Soles SD (#8) in Santo Domingo in the next round. Leones SD will play on the road against Huracanes PP in Puerto Plata and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
