Bottom-ranked Gallitos managed to get a eleventh victory, breaking the series of three consecutive losses. This time they won against fifth-ranked Atleticos in San German 82-74. The guests were already 17 points ahead after 3 quarters before a 24-15 Atleticos' run in the last quarter cut the lead to 82-74 at the end of the game. It was a great evening for international forward William Orozco (201-85, agency: Paris Global Sports) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 13 rebounds. The former international swingman Edwin Ubiles (198-86, college: Siena) helped adding 24 points. Four Gallitos players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was point guard William Cruz (180-95, college: Thomas Univ.) with 6 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists and American forward Onzie Branch (198-91, college: Gardner-Webb) scored 11 points and 8 rebounds. Atleticos' coach rotated thirteen players in this game, but that didn't help. Gallitos maintains tenth place with 11-22 record. Atleticos at the other side dropped to the sixth position with 18 games lost. Gallitos will play against higher ranked Vaqueros (#8) in Bayamon in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Atleticos will play on the road against the league's second-placed Cariduros where they are definitely not considered as a favorite in this game either.
