Regular Season Round 12: Titanes Licey - Metros STGO 68-77

Date: June 27, 2017
The game in San Cristobal was also quite interesting. Second ranked Metros STGO (10-3) played at the court of 7th ranked Titanes Licey (5-9). Metros STGO managed to secure a 9-point victory 77-68 on Tuesday. The guests trailed by 10 points at the halftime before their 47-28 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. The winners were led by point guard Adris De-Leon (180-84, college: E.Washington) who scored that evening 25 points and American Frank Gaines (191-90, college: IPFW) supported him with 9 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists. Even a double-double of 17 points and 10 rebounds by naturalized Spanish power forward Edward Santana (203-80) did not help to save the game for Titanes Licey. American guard Terrance Woodbury (201-87, college: Georgia) added 12 points. Four Titanes Licey players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Metros STGO maintains second position with 10-3 record behind leader Indios SFM. Titanes Licey lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the seventh place with nine games lost. Metros STGO will meet at home bottom-ranked Soles SD (#8) in the next round where they are favorite. Titanes Licey will play against Leones SD and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
