Regular Season Round 3: Fujian - Beijing 128-113

Fujian used a home court advantage and defeated the opponent from Beijing 128-113 on Friday night. The game was mostly controlled by Fujian. Beijing was better in third quarter 39-19. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. The best player for the winners was Ivorian-French point guard Mouloukou-Souleyman Diabate (181-87) who had a double-double by scoring 32 points, 12 rebounds, 9 assists and 4 steals. American forward LaQuinton Ross (203-92, college: Ohio St.) chipped in a double-double by scoring 35 points (!!!) and 16 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was American center Michael Holyfield (211-92, college: Sam Houston St.) who recorded a double-double by scoring 38 points (!!!) and 20 rebounds and the other American import guard Marquis Weddle (185-88, college: W.Virg.Wesl.) added 26 points, 7 rebounds and 10 assists respectively. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Fujian will face Jiangsu L. (#14) in He Fei in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Beijing will play on the road against Henan (#6) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
