Quebradillas rallied past San German for the opening win in the series. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Atleticos won third quarter 27-22. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Piratas made 23-of-24 charity shots (95.8 percent) during the game. American guard Tu Holloway (182-89, college: Xavier) stepped up and scored 21 points and 7 assists for the winners and the former international Michael Rosario (190-90, college: Florida) chipped in 23 points. At the losing side the former international guard Gary Browne (185-93, college: W.Virginia, agency: Inception Sports) responded with a double-double by scoring 15 points, 12 rebounds and 6 assists and American forward Devin Ebanks (206-89, college: W.Virginia) scored 23 points and 9 rebounds. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Atleticos' coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help.
