Ponce held off Arecibo for 2-1 advantage in the series. Leones made 29-of-33 charity shots (87.9 percent) during the game, while Capitanes only scored twelve points from the stripe. Leones players were unselfish on offense dishing 26 assists. Capitanes were plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a great evening for American Mike Harris (198-83, college: Rice) who led his team to a victory scoring 35 points (!!!), 7 rebounds and 7 assists. His fellow American import power forward Eric Dawson (206-84, college: Midwestern St., agency: Haylett Sports) helped adding 23 points, 14 rebounds and 8 assists. Dawson is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Four Leones players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was American forward Davon Jefferson (204-86, college: USC) with a double-double by scoring 24 points and 12 rebounds and naturalized U.S. Virgin Islands point guard Walter Hodge (183-86, college: Florida) scored 30 points and 5 assists.
