Another interesting game was a derby match between two local teams from Santo Domingo: Leones SD (#5) and Soles SD (#8). Leones SD (9-11) smashed visiting Soles SD (5-15) by 17 points 77-60. The hosts trailed by 1 point after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 1-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 77-60. Naturalized American MJ Rhett (206-92, college: Mississippi) notched 18 points and 7 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) to lead the effort and American guard Devan Downey (175-87, college: S.Carolina, agency: Octagon Europe) supported him with 12 points. Even a double-double of 22 points and 13 rebounds by power forward Brayan Martinez (203-91) did not help to save the game for Soles SD. Power forward Manuel Guzman (204-82, college: Bemidji St.) added 9 points. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Defending champion maintains fifth position with 9-11 record. Loser Soles SD stay at the bottom place with 15 games lost.
