Regular Season Round 18: Reales LV - Indios SFM 108-109

Sixth-ranked Reales LV (7-12) used its home court advantage to challenge second ranked Indios SFM (13-6) in La Vega. The visitors from San Francisco managed to secure only one-point victory 109-108. However their fans expected much easier game. The guests were tied after three quarters but managed to speed up in last quarter eventually winning the game. Indios SFM made 21-of-26 charity shots (80.8 percent) during the game. They shot the lights out from three nailing 14 long-distance shots on high 53.8 percentage. Indios SFM players were unselfish on offense dishing 30 assists. Naturalized American guard Gerardo Suero (196-89, college: Albany) scored 39 points (!!!) and 4 assists to lead the charge for the winners and American guard Sterling Gibbs (188-92, college: Connecticut, agency: Interperformances) chipped in 20 points and 6 assists during the contest. Indios SFM's coach David Diaz allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. The best for the losing side was guard Juan Coronado (193-83) with a double-double by scoring 23 points and 15 assists (went 7 for 7 at the free throw line) and American swingman Ollie Bailey (201-85, college: Oklahoma City) scored 22 points and 7 rebounds. Four Indios SFM and five Reales LV players scored in double figures. Indios SFM maintains second position with 13-6 record behind leader Metros STGO. Reales LV at the other side keeps the sixth place with 12 games lost. They share the position with Titanes Licey. Indios SFM will play against league's leader Metros STGO in Santiago in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Reales LV will play at home against Huracanes PP (#3) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
