Arecibo eked out a narrow win over Ponce to secure 3-2 lead in the series. Capitanes made 17-of-22 free shots (77.3 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Naturalized U.S. Virgin Islands point guard Walter Hodge (183-86, college: Florida) saved the victory by scoring 26 points. The former international swingman David Huertas (195-87, college: Mississippi) contributed with 19 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. The former international swingman Angel-Daniel Vassallo (198-86, college: Virginia Tech) answered with 37 points (!!!), 6 rebounds and 4 assists and American Mike Harris (198-83, college: Rice) added 28 points and 8 rebounds in the effort for Leones. Five Capitanes and four Leones players scored in double figures.
