Aguada outgunned Mayaguez to advance into the semifinal stage. Santeros made 23-of-26 charity shots (88.5 percent) during the game. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 22 assists. Indios were plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. American swingman Lamar Patterson (196-91, college: Pittsburgh, agency: Pensack Sports) stepped up and scored 24 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners and Brazilian-Spanish center Rafael Hettsheimer (206-86) chipped in 13 points and 7 rebounds. Four Santeros players scored in double figures. Santeros' coach Eddie Casiano allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. International guard Cliff Duran (191-89, agency: Paris Global Sports) responded with 26 points and international Devon Collier (203-91, college: Oregon St.) scored 23 points.
