An exciting game was played in San Cristobal. Titanes Licey faced Leones SD. Host Titanes Licey (2-0) defeated guests from Santo Domingo (0-2) 89-76. The game without a history. Titanes Licey led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They made 25-of-30 free shots (83.3 percent) during the game. Titanes Licey forced 23 Leones SD turnovers. Leones SD was plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. Kelvin Perez fired 21 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. Naturalized Spanish power forward Edward Santana (203-80) chipped in 15 points and 5 rebounds. Four Titanes Licey players scored in double figures. Naturalized American swingman Sadiel Rojas (197-89, college: Okla.Wesleyan) produced a double-double by scoring 18 points and 11 rebounds and forward Juan Guerrero (201-93) added 8 points and 10 rebounds respectively for lost side. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Titanes Licey will face Caneros LR in La Romana in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Leones SD will play on the road against Caneros LR in La Romana and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
