Regular Season Round 1: Portoviejo - Importadora 82-80

A very close game took place in Portviejo between Portviejo and Importadora. Portviejo (1-0) got a very close home victory over Importadora (0-1). Portviejo managed to escape with a 2-point win 82-80 on Tuesday evening. Portviejo well out of reach of Importadora shooting 82.1 percent from the field. It was a great shooting night for Portviejo especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 100.0 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. Adriano Barredas (-92) stepped up and scored 35 points (!!!) for the winners and international guard Jonathan Arboleda (190-95) chipped in 20 points and 6 assists (perfect from the field making all nine shots !!!). At the losing side Jaime Sanmiguel (-84) responded with 24 points (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field) and American forward Tavares Sledge (203-92, college: USC Aiken, agency: Interperformances) scored 11 points and 7 assists. Five Importadora players scored in double figures. Portviejo will meet Iccan in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Importadora will play against Triple E-Uda (#8) and hope to win that game.
