Second Stage Round 3: Titanes Licey - Leones SD 86-97

Very significant was Leones SD's (#3, 2-2) victory against Titanes Licey (2-2) 97-86. Leones SD players were unselfish on offense dishing 25 assists comparing to just 10 passes made by Titanes Licey's players. It was a good game for American point guard Patrick Miller (185-92, college: Tennessee St.) who led his team to a victory with 26 points and 7 assists. Naturalized American MJ Rhett (206-92, college: Mississippi) contributed with 18 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. Leones SD's coach allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Naturalized Spanish power forward Edward Santana (203-80) answered with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 12 rebounds (went 8 for 8 at the free throw line) and American center Brian Williams (208-87, college: Tennessee) added 21 points and 9 rebounds in the effort for Titanes Licey. Five Leones SD and four Titanes Licey players scored in double figures. Leones SD's next round opponent will be Caneros LR in La Romana and it will be for sure the game of the week. Titanes Licey will play again on the road against Leones SD in Santo Domingo and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
