Regular Season Round 13: Beijing - Shaanxi W. 97-120

Very predictable result when second ranked Shaanxi W. (9-4) rolled over on the road 12th ranked Beijing (4-9) 120-97. The game was mostly controlled by Shaanxi W.. Beijing was better in second period 31-28. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Shaanxi W. shot the lights out from three nailing 19 long-distance shots on high 51.4 percentage. American forward Charles Gaines (201-81, college: S.Mississippi) fired a double-double by scoring 34 points (!!!) and 15 rebounds for the winners. His fellow American import guard Von Wafer (196-85, college: Florida St.) chipped in 36 points (!!!) and 8 rebounds. American center Michael Holyfield (211-92, college: Sam Houston St.) produced a double-double by scoring 21 points and 24 rebounds and power forward Yunan Liu (205-94) added 23 points respectively for lost side. Four Shaanxi W. and five Beijing players scored in double figures. Beijing's coach ShuMin Gao gave up on the game allowing to play twelve players seeing no chance for a win. Shaanxi W. maintains second place with 9-4 record having just two points less than leader Henan, which they share with Hunan. Beijing lost their fourth game in a row. They keep the twelfth position with nine games lost. Shaanxi W.'s next round opponent will be Hebei X. (#11) at home and are hoping to win another game. Beijing will play against Guizhou and hope to win that game.
