Second Stage Round 3: Indios SFM - Huracanes PP 88-85

Important game to mention about took place in San Francisco. Indios SFM (2-2) saved a 3-point victory at home edging Huracanes PP (1-4) 88-85 on Sunday evening. Indios SFM shot 23 for 37 from the free-throw line, while Huracanes PP only scored six points from the stripe. Indios SFM forced 26 Huracanes PP turnovers. Strangely Huracanes PP outrebounded Indios SFM 43-31 including a 32-21 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was an exceptional evening for American guard Sterling Gibbs (188-92, college: Connecticut, agency: Interperformances) who led the winners and scored 15 points and 7 assists. Juan-Miguel Suero (198-93) accounted for 16 points for the winning side. Naturalized American forward Kelly Beidler (199-88, college: Mt.St.Mary's) came up with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 10 rebounds and American Jarvis Williams (198-89, college: Minn.St.-Mankato) added 17 points and 6 rebounds respectively for Huracanes PP in the defeat. Five Indios SFM and four Huracanes PP players scored in double figures. Huracanes PP's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Indios SFM will again play against Huracanes PP (#3) in Puerto Plata in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Huracanes PP will have a break next round.
