Second Stage Round 4: Huracanes PP - Indios SFM 97-90

An exciting game was played in Puerto Plata. Third ranked Huracanes PP faced their biggest opponent Indios SFM. Host Huracanes PP (2-4) defeated guests from San Francisco (2-4) 97-90. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Indios SFM won third quarter 25-18. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Huracanes PP dominated down low during the game scoring 60 of its points in the paint compared to Indios SFM's 40. Indios SFM was plagued by 27 personal fouls down the stretch. Worth to mention a great performance of naturalized American forward Kelly Beidler (199-88, college: Mt.St.Mary's) who helped to win the game recording 17 points, 8 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals. American Jarvis Williams (198-89, college: Minn.St.-Mankato) contributed with 23 points for the winners. Juan-Miguel Suero (198-93) replied with 14 points, 9 rebounds and 8 assists and naturalized American guard Gerardo Suero (196-89, college: Albany) added 21 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Indios SFM. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Huracanes PP moved-up to second place, which they share with defeated Indios SFM. Huracanes PP will play against league's leader Metros STGO in Santiago in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Indios SFM will play on the road against the league's leader Metros STGO in Santiago and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
