Japan earned FIBA Asia Cup title. They nipped Australia in the exciting championship game tonight. Saki Mizushima posted 26 points to lead the champions. Australia surged ahead in the second term. The Opals recorded a 39:33 halftime lead. Japan however turned things around in the second half. They went on a 26:14 run in the third term to take the lead. Australia pulled within striking distance in the final seconds but Japan held on to celebrate the title at the end. Yuki Miyazawa accounted for 11 points and 7 rebounds for Japan. Kelsey Griffin delivered 30 points and 15 rebounds for the Opals. Marianna Tolo had 13 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists in the loss.
