Finals Game 4: Arecibo - Quebradillas 103-81

Date: August 3, 2017
Arecibo evened the championship series at 2-2. They knocked down visiting Quebradillas to bounce back from the loss in Game 3. The game was mostly controlled by Capitanes. Piratas managed to win third quarter 22-21. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Piratas 42-27 including a 30-19 advantage in defensive rebounds. Worth to mention a great performance of American forward Davon Jefferson (204-86, college: USC) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 34 points (!!!), 12 rebounds and 6 assists. Nigerian power forward Chinemelu Elonu (206-87, college: Texas A&M) contributed with 26 points and 8 rebounds (on 12-of-15 shooting from the field) for the winners. The former international center Jorge-Bryan Diaz (210-89, college: Nebraska) replied with 20 points and 7 rebounds and American guard Tu Holloway (182-89, college: Xavier) added 14 points and 7 assists (made all of his seven free throws) in the effort for Piratas. Five Piratas players scored in double figures. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games.
