Regular Season Round 19: Anhui - Fujian 118-110

Very expected game when 10th ranked Fujian (9-10) lost on the road to fifth ranked Anhui (12-7) 118-110 on Sunday. The hosts trailed by 7 points at the halftime before their 38-20 charge in the third quarter, which allowed them to win the game. Anhui dominated down low during the game scoring 80 of its points in the paint compared to Fujian's 58 and made 23-of-27 free shots (85.2 percent) during the game. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Anhui made 8 blocks. It was an exceptional evening for American Chris Johnson (210-85, college: LSU) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 41 points (!!!), 17 rebounds and 5 blocks (on 16-of-19 shooting from the field). His fellow American import swingman Manny Harris (196-89, college: Michigan) accounted for 36 points (!!!), 6 rebounds and 4 assists for the winning side. Four Anhui players scored in double figures. American forward Brandon Bowman (206-84, college: Georgetown) came up with a double-double by scoring 35 points (!!!), 22 rebounds and 6 assists and Ivorian-French point guard Mouloukou-Souleyman Diabate (181-87) added 33 points (!!!) and 7 assists (made all of his nine free throws !!!) respectively for Fujian in the defeat. Fujian's coach Jiulong Liu rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Anhui maintains fifth place with 12-7 record, which they share with Luoyang. Loser Fujian dropped to the eighth position with ten games lost. They share it with Lhasa and Chongqing. Anhui will meet at home Jiangsu L. (#13) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Fujian will play against Chongqing (#9) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
