Regular Season Round 26: Anhui - Henan 108-101

There was a change at the NBL leadership position after last games. Round 26 most important game was a defeat of league's leader Henan (21-5). They were defeated by sixth ranked Anhui (18-8) 108-101 on Wednesday night. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Henan. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning the initial quarter 34-28. But Henan won second period 25-20. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The game was decided in the last minutes when Anhui won last quarter 31-26. They also forced 21 Henan turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. American swingman Manny Harris (196-89, college: Michigan) scored 41 points (!!!), 7 rebounds, 9 assists and 5 steals to lead the charge for the winners and the other American import Chris Johnson (210-85, college: LSU) chipped in 31 points, 12 rebounds and 5 assists during the contest. Anhui's coach Yong Zhang used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American-Nigerian center Chris Otule (211-90, college: Marquette) responded with a double-double by scoring 28 points, 17 rebounds and 8 blocks and guard Yuxing Jiang (195-95) scored 26 points and 5 rebounds. Four Henan players scored in double figures. Anhui moved-up to third place, which they share with Luoyang. Henan at the other side still keeps top position with five games lost. They were joined at the leadership position by Shaanxi W. who have the same record.
