Luoyang held off Hunan to even the series at 1-1. Hunan was ahead by 11 points after three quarters before a 30-17 charge of Luoyang, which allowed them to win the game. They made 21-of-27 charity shots (77.8 percent) during the game. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 24 assists. Luoyang brought some defensive toughness making 9 blocks. Hunan was plagued by 30 personal fouls down the stretch. American point guard Russ Smith (183-91, college: Louisville) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 41 points (!!!), 12 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals. Forward Wenhan Qiao (195-91) contributed with a triple-double by scoring 21 points, 12 rebounds and 10 assists for the winners. American power forward Arinze Onuaku (206-87, college: Syracuse) replied with a double-double by scoring 24 points, 17 rebounds and 7 assists and his fellow American import guard Terrell Stoglin (185-91, college: Maryland) added 30 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Hunan. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Hunan's coach Wenlong Huang rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help.
