Semi-Finals Game 2: Shaanxi W. - Hunan 120-102

Shaanxi stepped closer to the NBL Finals. They overcame Hunan for 2-0 lead in the semifinal series. The hosts trailed by 4 points after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 2-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 120-102. Shaanxi W. dominated down low during the game scoring 70 of its points in the paint compared to Hunan's 46 and made 20-of-24 free shots (83.3 percent) during the game. They outrebounded Hunan 41-26 including 29 on the defensive glass. 27 personal fouls committed by Hunan helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. The game was dominated by American players. The best player for the winners was forward Troy Gillenwater (205-88, college: N.Mexico St.) who scored 41 points (!!!), 9 rebounds and 4 assists. Forward Charles Gaines (201-81, college: S.Mississippi) chipped in a double-double by scoring 28 points and 15 rebounds. Four Shaanxi W. players scored in double figures. Guard Terrell Stoglin (185-91, college: Maryland) produced 53 points (!!!) (was perfect 15-for-15 from the free throw line !!!) and power forward Arinze Onuaku (206-87, college: Syracuse) added 16 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists respectively for the guests. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games.
