Regular Season Round 1: UCC Demons - Tralee 79-77

An exciting game was played in Cork. UCC Demons faced Tralee. Host UCC Demons (1-0) edged guests from Tralee (0-1) 79-77. Strangely Tralee outrebounded UCC Demons 53-39 including a 20-5 advantage in offensive rebounds. It was a great shooting night for UCC Demons especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 61.5 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 28 assists. The former international forward Colin O'Reilly (200-84, college: Post) fired a double-double by scoring 31 points and 13 rebounds for the winners. International point guard Kyle Hosford (175-89) chipped in 8 points, 5 rebounds and 10 assists. Croatian-Serbian center Dusan Bogdanovic (211-93) produced a double-double by scoring 20 points and 10 rebounds and Serbian forward Goran Pantovic (208-91, college: Drexel) added 16 points and 11 rebounds respectively for lost side. UCC Demons will face UCD Marian (#7) in Dublin in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Tralee will play at home against KUBS (#10) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
