Regular Season Round 7: L.Sorocaba - Bauru 79-83

Date: September 16, 2017
The game in Sorocabana was also quite interesting. Fifth ranked Paschoalotto/Bauru (6-5) played at the court of 6th ranked Liga Sorocaba (4-6). Paschoalotto/Bauru managed to secure a 4-point victory 83-79 on Saturday. Liga Sorocaba was trailing by 7 points at halftime but managed to get 3-point lead after three quarters before a 20-13 charge of Paschoalotto/Bauru, which allowed them to win the game. They made 23-of-30 free shots (76.7 percent) during the game. Strangely Liga Sorocaba outrebounded Paschoalotto/Bauru 47-35 including a 21-10 advantage in offensive rebounds. It was an exceptional evening for American point guard Kendall Anthony (173-93, college: Richmond) who led the winners and scored 21 points and 7 assists. The former international center Rafael Hettsheimer (206-86) accounted for 21 points for the winning side. Paschoalotto/Bauru's coach Demetrius Ferraciu used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. American guard Anton Cook (188-95, college: SE Oklahoma) came up with 29 points and the other American import point guard Dontrell Brite (175, college: Mount Olive) added 12 points, 8 rebounds and 9 assists respectively for Liga Sorocaba in the defeat. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Paschoalotto/Bauru moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Pinheiros. Loser Liga Sorocaba keeps the sixth position with six games lost. Paschoalotto/Bauru will meet at home higher ranked Paulistano (#3) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Liga Sorocaba will play against the league's leader Vivo/Franca in Sao Paulo and hope to secure a win.
