Regular Season Round 1: Orchies - Challans 72-78

The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of Orchesien BC (0-1) in Orchies. Hosts were defeated by Vendee Challans (1-0) 78-72. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Orchesien BC won third quarter 23-21. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Naturalized Mali point guard Ibrahim Saounera (179-87) stepped up and scored 18 points and 7 assists (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) for the winners and American center Deshawn Painter (205-90, college: ODU) chipped in 13 points and 5 rebounds. Four Vendee Challans players scored in double figures. At the losing side American forward T.J. Robinson (203-89, college: Long Beach St.) responded with 22 points and 9 rebounds and the other American import guard Doug Herring-Jr (191, college: Utica) scored 16 points and 5 rebounds. Vendee Challans will play against CFBB (#12) in Paris in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Orchesien BC will play on the road against Saint-Quentin to get more than just one victory in their record.
