Regular Season Round 3: Lorient - Gries/Oberhoffen 72-73

A very close game took place in Lorient between Gries/Oberhoffen and Lorient. Gries/Oberhoffen (3-0) got a very close victory on the road over Lorient (1-2). Gries/Oberhoffen managed to escape with a 1-point win 73-72 on Saturday evening. Guest team only slightly avoided a big embarassment. Gries/Oberhoffen forced 19 Lorient turnovers. It was a great evening for Spanish guard Xavier Forcada (194-88) who led his team to a victory scoring 15 points, 6 rebounds and 8 assists. American forward Demond Watt (200-89, college: Texas A&M-CC) helped adding 11 points and 11 rebounds. The best for the losing side was guard Mathieu Bigote (190-84) with 14 points and 6 assists and Lithuanian Ronaldas Rutkauskas (203-92) produced a double-double by scoring 12 points and 11 rebounds. Five Gries/Oberhoffen and four Lorient players scored in double figures. Gries/Oberhoffen will meet at home SO Maritime Boulogne (#9) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Lorient will play against Aubenas and hope to win that game.
