Regular Season Round 3: Opava B - Olomouc Bbal 88-77

There was a minor upset when Olomouc Bbal (1-2) was defeated on the road by B&W Opava B (1-2) 88-77 on Sunday. B&W Opava B dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to Olomouc Bbal's 36. B&W Opava B forced 23 Olomouc Bbal turnovers and outrebounded them 46-33 including a 17-4 advantage in offensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was center Miroslav Kvapil (202-93) who had a double-double by scoring 35 points (!!!) and 13 rebounds. Guard Lukas Bukovjan (185-98) chipped in 18 points and 6 assists. At the other side the best for losing team was Jiri Dedek (190-95) who recorded a double-double by scoring 13 points, 10 rebounds, 7 assists and 4 steals and guard Lubos Lachman (190-93) added 20 points and 5 rebounds respectively. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Olomouc Bbal's coach Michal Pekarek rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. B&W Opava B will face Novy Jicin (#7) on the road in the next round.
