Regular Season Round 3: Djurgarden - Malbas 107-57

Djurgarden delivered the third consecutive victory. This time they crushed Malbas (2-2) 107-57 in Stockholm. The game without a history. Djurgarden led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 64 of its points in the paint compared to Malbas' 34. Djurgarden forced 20 Malbas turnovers. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 26 assists. It was a good game for forward Andre Benediktsson (196-95) who led his team to a victory with 14 points, 7 rebounds, 4 assists and 5 steals. British-Nigerian Oladapo Ayuba (198-86, college: UMKC) contributed with 15 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. Five Djurgarden players scored in double figures. Forward Stefan Alavuk (201-98) answered with 15 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists and Antiguan-American point guard Jermelle Fraser (186-87, college: SUNY Maritime) added 12 points in the effort for Malbas. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Djurgarden's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Stockholm Alvik Basket.
