Regular Season Round 1: Andorra - Unics 68-76
Date: October 11, 2017
And what about another game where Russian Unics Kazan (#3) beat Spanish Andorra 76-68 on the road. The guests were already 13 points ahead after 3 quarters before a 22-17 Andorra's run in the last quarter cut the lead to 76-68 at the end of the game. Unics Kazan made 16-of-18 charity shots (88.9 percent) during the game. They brought some defensive toughness making 9 blocks. 24 personal fouls committed by Andorra helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Worth to mention a great performance of American guard Jamar Smith (191-87, college: S.Indiana, agency: Inception Sports) who helped to win the game recording 15 points. Gabonese forward Stephane Lasme (203-82, college: Massachusetts) contributed with 12 points, 6 rebounds and 4 blocks for the winners. Four Unics Kazan players scored in double figures. Slovenian Jaka Blazic (196-90) answered with 11 points and 5 rebounds and French point guard Andrew Albicy (177-90) added 7 points and 7 assists in the effort for Andorra. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Unics Kazan's next round opponent will be Paris-Levallois (#6) at home which should be theoretically an easy game. Andorra will play against Fiat TO in Torino and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
