Very predictable result in Bonn where top-ranked Telekom Baskets (3-0) defeated 13th ranked Oettinger Rockets Gotha (1-4) 79-73 on Friday. However just six-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. Telekom Baskets made 18-of-23 free shots (78.3 percent) during the game. Worth to mention a great performance of naturalized Cuban swingman Yorman-Polas Bartolo (192-85) who helped to win the game recording 11 points and 7 rebounds and Montenegrin Nemanja Djurisic (203-92, college: Georgia) who added 13 points during the contest. Telekom Baskets' coach Predrag Krunic used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. At the losing side Nigerian-American center Ekenechukwu Ibekwe (207-85, college: Maryland) responded with 20 points and 7 rebounds and Belgian-Nigerian guard Retin Obasohan (185-93, college: Alabama) scored 13 points and 8 rebounds. Telekom Baskets have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to fourth place. Newly promoted Oettinger Rockets Gotha dropped to the fifteenth position with four games lost. Telekom Baskets will face higher ranked ALBA Berlin (#3) on the road in the next round and it may be the game of the week. Oettinger Rockets Gotha will play against Brose Baskets (#6) and hope to win that game.
