Regular Season Round 5: AEC Collblanc - Tarragona 71-62

We could consider it a predictable result in the game between close teams in L´Hospitalet where eighth ranked AEC Collblanc (2-2) beat 7th ranked Tarragona (1-1) 71-62 on Saturday. The hosts were tied at the half but managed to speed up in last two quarters eventually winning the game. The best player for the winners was forward Lluis Jacas (198-90) who scored 19 points. Point guard Marc Pages (178-95) chipped in 14 points and 5 rebounds. Bosnian swingman Mihajlo Zvonar (195-92) produced 18 points and American forward Michael Balkovic (198-93, college: Caldwell, agency: Dynamics Global Management) added 11 points and 9 rebounds respectively for the guests. Both coaches tested many bench players saving starting five for next games. AEC Collblanc moved-up to fifth place in Group C-A, which they share with 3 other teams. Loser Tarragona dropped to the ninth position with one game lost. AEC Collblanc will face bottom-ranked Quart (#10) on the road in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Tarragona will play against the league's leader Sant Adria and hope to win that game and get promotion back to the LEB Silver just one year after relegation.
