Regular Season Round 4: Zadar - Partizan NIS 97-104
Date: October 14, 2017
Everything could happen at the game between two tied teams. Both tenth ranked Serbian Partizan and 8th ranked Croatian KK Zadar had identical 1-2 record. But KK Zadar was not able to use a home court advantage and lost to the opponent from Beograd 104-97. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But KK Zadar won fourth quarter 31-30. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Partizan made 25-of-28 charity shots (89.3 percent) during the game. It was a great shooting night for Partizan especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 56.3 percentage. 25 personal fouls committed by KK Zadar helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. The winners were led by Serbian Vanja Marinkovic (198-97, agency: BeoBasket) who scored that evening 33 points (!!!) and 5 rebounds (on 13-of-15 shooting from the field) and American guard Nigel Williams-Goss (191-94, college: Gonzaga) supported him with 8 points, 8 rebounds and 8 assists. Even a double-double of 29 points and 10 rebounds by point guard Luka Bozic (201-96, agency: XL Basketball Agency) did not help to save the game for KK Zadar. American guard Preston Knowles (187-89, college: Louisville) added 14 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists for lost side. Four Partizan and five KK Zadar players scored in double figures. Partizan (2-2) moved-up to third place, which they share with 7 other teams. KK Zadar at the other side dropped to the eleventh position with three games lost. Partizan's next round opponent will be Igokea (#9) in Aleksandrovac where they are favorite. KK Zadar will play on the road against FMP in Beograd and hope to win that game.
